Biancoshock

(1982, Milan)

He's a visual and conceptual artist. Over a twenty-year career, he has staged roughly a thousand unauthorized installations in public spaces across 31 countries. His works seamlessly blend irony, provocation, and poignant social commentary. Active as a graffiti writer since 1996, he has focused since 2004 on an artistic practice rooted in détournement, photography, and the conceptual reframing of daily routines, prompting critical reflection on contemporary society. His background allows him to instinctively engage with the metropolitan environment as a stage for artistic action— altering and reinterpreting mundane, overlooked objects to transform them into vehicles for social critique. In 2014, he founded "Ephemeralism," a non-movement centered on Situationist performance through temporary, fleeting interventions in physical spaces. Consequently, his ephemeral works endure primarily through meticulous photographic and video documentation. He presented the movement's manifesto at TEDx Porto in 2014. His work has been exhibited at renowned venues including the Saatchi Gallery in London, the Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània in Valencia, the Grand Palais Immersif in Paris, and the MACRO Museum in Rome, as well as numerous European galleries. He lives and works in Milan.

Francesco Garbelli

(1962, Milan)

He's a visual and conceptual artist. A graduate in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano, he is recognized internationally as a pioneer of street and urban art. In the mid-1980s, Garbelli was a leading figure in the creative season of "Brown-Boveri"—one of the most extraordinary chapters of underground art, self-management, and cultural squatting in Milan. Later, in 1993, he co-founded the "Concettualismo Ironico Italiano" (Italian Ironic Conceptualism) group, an avant-garde artistic collective that gained significant visibility in Germany. The movement distinguished itself by addressing the malaise of contemporary society and the art system through the lens of paradox, playfulness, and biting humor. A major focus of his oeuvre lies in the subversion and rewriting of metropolitan toponymy and urban visual codes. He has held solo exhibitions at the Gilda Contemporary Art Gallery (Milan), La Giarina Gallery (Verona), the Banca d'Asti headquarters in Via Manzoni (Milan), and the Stazione Arte Contemporary Gallery (Milan). In 2018, his work “Idrante Ionico” won the biennial "Arte in Balossa" competition. His pieces are included in the prestigious VAF-Stiftung collection, currently housed at MART (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto). Garbelli has previously taught at N.A.B.A. in Milan and L.U.N.A. in Bologna. He lives and works in Milan.

They are a trio working in the visual arts. Originally from Apulia, this artistic nucleus has extended its reach well beyond regional borders. Emerging in the mid-1990s, they carry out artistic blitzes nationwide, deploying posters and stencils laden with sharp social and political satire. Drawing inspiration from pop counterculture, self-published comics, underground graphics, and early pirate street television, the collective has forged a fiercely independent approach to art and social commentary, defined by an ironic, Dadaist aesthetic. Over the years, their practice has diverged from mainstream urban art conventions to develop a highly distinct stylistic signature: street-photo performance. They construct conceptual installations in forbidden, liminal spaces reclaimed from public use—such as abandoned construction sites, skeletal factory ruins, or areas under judicial seizure. These backdrops trigger raw, anti-naturalistic visual short-circuits. Through photographs charged with pathos and irony, I Dott. PorkA's denounce real estate speculation, the rampant overdevelopment of the Apulian coastline, industrial offshoring, and the moral impoverishment of modern society. Their work has achieved international reach through urban art festivals across major European countries, film screenings, and group exhibitions. It has also been featured in seminal essays on contemporary art, including Mario Cresci’s "Future Images" and "Exploit," a treatise on "heretical" and independent contemporary art authored by Giorgio De Finis, Fabio Benincasa, and Andrea Facchi.
