EGS è uno dei nomi più significativi della scena artistica contemporanea finlandese.
Inizia a dipingere giovanissimo, in spazi pubblici non autorizzati, una pratica per la quale gode di fama internazionale e che ha dato origine al suo nome d’arte: tre lettere che sono divenute nel tempo sia un linguaggio visivo che un alfabeto personale per raccontare storie. Nel 2000, consegue un BA in Graphic Design alla University of Arts di Londra, dove entra in contatto con l’esuberanza creativa e artistica di una delle città più trasgressive del mondo. Dal 2005 si dedica a elaborare una semantica che trasferisca - su carta e tela - l’eclettismo della sua arte nello spazio pubblico; dal 2006 inizia a essere incluso in mostre collettive nelle principali capitali europee e dal 2009 è protagonista di numerose mostre personali.
Il suo primo approccio alle opere tridimensionali in vetro soffiato risale al 2015, e già nel 2020 ottiene la sua prima retrospettiva presso il Museo del Vetro Finlandese: un importante riconoscimento dal mondo istituzionale dell’arte.
EGS ha esposto al Kunsthalle di Helsinki, è stato ospite alla prima Biennale della sua città nel 2021 e nel 2025 ha firmato la campagna d’immagine dell’Helsinki Festival, il principale festival di arte e cultura della Scandinavia.
Sue opere sono state acquisite dalle più importanti fondazioni, collezioni private e musei dei paesi nordici; dalla Galleria Nazionale Finlandese, al Museo d’Arte Contemporanea Kiasma, dal Museo Serlachius al Didrichsen.
