EGS is one of the most significant names in the contemporary Finnish art scene. He began painting at a very young age in unauthorized public spaces, a practice which has earned him international fame and gave birth to his artist’s name: three letters that over time have become both a visual language and a personal alphabet for telling stories. In 2000 he obtained a BA in Graphic Design from the University of Arts in London, where he got in contact with the creative and artistic exuberance of one of the world’s most transgressive cities; since 2005 he has dedicated to developing a semantics that transfers the eclecticism of his public space work onto paper and canvas. From 2006 he begun to be included in group exhibitions in major European capitals and from 2009 he is the protagonist of numerous solo shows. His first approach to three-dimensional works in blown glass dates 2015, and in 2020 he held his first retrospective at the Finnish Glass Museum: an important recognition from the institutional art world. EGS has exhibited at the Kunsthalle in Helsinki, has been invited to the first Biennale of his city in 2021 and in 2025 signed the image campaign of the Helsinki Festival, the largest art and culture festival in Scandinavia. His work has been acquired by the most important foundations, private collections and museums of the Nordic countries, from the Finnish National Gallery, to the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, from the Serlachius Museum to the Didrichsen.
